• Expressing Solidarity with People of Kashmir

• Muslim Commercial Bank donates Rs. 1 Million to the Flood Relief Fund of the Sri Lanka Pakistan Trade & Investment Association

 Pakistan’s leading bank Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB) donated Rs. 1 Million to the Flood Relief Fund of the Sri Lanka Pakistan Friendship Trade and Investment Association.


Mr. Azfar Noumani,  Country General Manager MCB  presented the cheque of Rs. 1 million to the Pakistan High Commissioner Maj. Gen. Syed Shakeel Hussain who in turn, ASTM standard download  handed over the said donation to Mr. Ifthikhar Aziz, President of Sri Lanka – Pakistan Trade and Investment Association at a ceremony held at the High Commission of Pakistan on 30thMay 2016.


The  Deputy High Commissioner, Diplomats of the High Commission and the Executive Members of the Sri Lanka – Pakistan Trade and Investment Association  were also present on the occasion.


While speaking on the occasion, the High Commissioner expressed deep grief and sorrow to the Government of Sri Lanka over the loss of precious lives and the displacement of more than 400,000 people due to devastating floods.  

Mr. Azfar Noumani, Country General Manager MCB, stated that as  members of the SLPFT&IA,  MCB and the Pakistani community in Sri Lanka has always been standing with the people of Sri Lanka in the time of need.  


Mr. Ifthikhar Aziz, President Sri Lanka – Pakistan Friendship Trade and Investment Association stated that the Association pledged the Flood Relief at its Exco meeting held on 18th May 2016,  and has collected more than Rs. 4 Million. He thanked MCB, in particular,  and all the other Benefactors who have contributed so generously to the Fund.


He further stated we have taken a policy decision not to donate food stuff and other necessities as there is a glut of such donations. We hope to engage in a planned rehabilitation programme shortly.


• Requesting Financial Assistance (MEDCA)


Our association has been helpling MEDCA in previous years for Ramadhan. This year too the MEDCA has sent their request.
We request our generous donors to contribute to this need of the MEDCA.
 I would like to bring to your kind notice that, we the Muslim medical students of Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences, Rajarata University of Srilanka have established an organization named MEDCA (Manhal Educational Development and Cultural Association) working as a non-profitable organization for nearly nine years, to support all Muslim medical students in their religious, cultural and educational needs. Our organization consists of nearly 75 Muslim medical students. At present we conduct Health Awareness Programs in this area. Also we have plans to conduct Medical camps, Medical Screening Programs, Blood Donation camps and more Health Awareness Programs in the future.
Alhamdhulillah, with the grace of almighty Allah and with you and your valuable donor contribution as Rs.295, 000/= (180,000 +115,000) last year we arranged Sahar and Ifthar for our members in the holy month of Ramadhan. Currently we need financial assistance to conduct our programs for forth coming holy month of Ramadhan. To arrange ifthaar and sahar for our members who reside at hostels, we need about Rs.17, 500/= for a day and            Rs.537, 500/= for whole month of Ramadhan.
 So, I obediently expect your financial assistance to conduct this program successfully. May Allah provide good deeds in your life.
